I'm a huge fan of the slow cooker, just chuck the ingredients in, come back in 7 hours and dinner is done. What could be easier?
Delicious!
However I'm not keen on the stereotype stews and casseroles that slow cookers are known for so I tend to experiment with lots of recipes.
A huge favourite in our household is sausage casserole.

Ingredients:
3 Sausages per person cut into 3
Handful of chopped onion
2 good handfuls of frozen mixed vegetables
2 tbs smoked paprika
2 Beef Oxo cubes
Jar passata
200ml water
Method
Brown sausage pieces and onion for a few minutes. Add all other ingredients and bring to boil then transfer to slow cooker.
I cook on low for aprox 7 hours
Yesterday I tried a twist on the traditional lamb stew. It was beautiful
Ingredients
3 x lean lamb steaks cut into bite sized pieces
Handful of chopped onion
Handful of sliced mushrooms
2 handfuls of mixed frozen vegetables
2 Lamb Oxo
Tbs all purpose seasoning
Tbs paprika
Method:
1. Brown meat and onion
2. Add onions
4. Add all the seasoning
5. Add just enough boiling water to barely cover. Bring to boil then transfer to slow cooker. I cook on low for aprox 7 hours.
